What does cheerleader's hair look like? ›

Bangs that are not cut above your eye brow need to be pulled back. NO EXCEPTIONS!!! Cheerleaders will not be permitted to cheer at games, competitions, or events with bangs below their eyebrows or down the sides of their face.

Wear your hair down.

During the auditions, a team may allow candidates to wear a half-ponytail or another hairstyle for their freestyle/solo performances.

Aggressively teasing hair is what leads to damage, so it is important to be gentle! Starting from the back of your hair, hold a section of hair straight up and place your comb above the root, moving it up and down repeatedly in short uniform strokes until you begin to notice voluminous body.

Hold the hair straight up and keep it taut for the best results. Use a rat tail comb to gently comb the hair from mid-shaft down to the roots. Do this 3 times to create a voluminous tangle.

Gently Tease the Hair

To start teasing the hair, hold the hair up from one section in one hand and use the other hand to brush from the mid-lengths towards the roots. Push firmly as you go and repeat at least three times or until you see the desired results.
